Walchand College of Engineering was established in 1947. The college has made a modest beginning with Civil Engineering undergraduate course. Subsequently undergraduate courses in electrical and mechanical engineering, B.E. (Elec) and B.E (Mech), were introduced during the years 1950 and 1951 respectively. The inception of this college is solely due to untiring and devoted efforts of Late Shri Dhondumama Sathe, a freedom fighter and a great vi FACTS Walchand College of Engineering is situated midway between Sangli and Miraj cities at Vishrambaug, Sangli. The campus stretches along 102.50 acres of land on the southern side of Sangli - Miraj road. The institute aims at imparting quality education through demanding academic programmes. Association of Past Students came into its existence after official registration with Charity Commissioner in the year 1995. AICTE approved Research and Development project on Civil Department relating to "Appropriate Building Technology". National level technical meet "VISION", which includes technical exhibitions, design contests and a series of experts lectures by eminent persons in industry is organized every year. The college Magazine is regularly published in April every year. The magazine provides students with a creative outlet to express their abundant talent.
